Metro PCS

Metro PCS, where PCS stands for Personal Communications Service, was founded in 1994 as General Wireless, Inc. The CDMA network has since been scrapped and decommissioned by the Metro as all its users migrated the LTE network operated by T-Mobile.

Network Coverage

As mentioned above, Metro PCS runs off T-Mobile’s network which is ranked as the third best in cell phone coverage in the United States. The network has a 95.1% coverage & reliability score from 280 major U.S. markets

Note that the type of device you use can determine the strength of coverage you receive. Newer phones and models tend to get more coverage than older ones because they have the radio technology to tap into newer, faster spectrums that are rolled out by carriers. An example would be the Band 12 spectrum that was released by T-mobile in 2017 which allows for better coverage inside buildings. Phones like the iPhone 5S do not have the radio tech to tap into that spectrum, however, newer models like the iPhone 6S and so on do.
