picoChip expands sales network across Europe

picoChip has announced a significant expansion of its sales network in Europe with the appointment of David Hutton as Vice President of Sales Europe, and with the signing of a distribution agreement with UR Group under which Ultimate Renaissance will sell picoChip’s products through its European network of sales offices.

Dave Hutton has over 22 years of experience in the semiconductor and wireless industries, having held senior sales and marketing positions at Texas Instruments, IDT and most recently Pericom. He has also had experience of working in European-based semiconductor IP start-ups with Silaria and Siroyan.

Commented Dave, “The establishment of a pan-European sales and distribution network represents a milestone in picoChip’s evolution. Until now the majority of our sales have been generated from key accounts and long-term partnerships with companies designing wireless equipment. This new development not only demonstrates that we have the production capacity to serve smaller customers: it also provides our growing number of wireless customers across Europe with local coverage and support. In addition it extends our reach to other applications that demand massive computational power - such as image processing - which can equally benefit from the flexibility and processing power offered by our multicore products.”

picoChip’s products will be available through the UR Group’s offices in Germany, Italy, Spain (also covering Portugal), Sweden and the UK (which also covers Ireland).

Said Angelo Bottigelli, Director Communication Solutions at the UR Group, “picoChip’s product range is unique in the outstanding price/performance balance that it offers to a whole range of potential customers, and we are proud to be able to include it in our portfolio.”

Added Dave Hutton, “The UR Group is an ideal business partner for us, providing as it does a single, highly-motivated sales organization right across Europe, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the relevant market areas.”
