| picoChip today announced the appointment of Patrick Barry as the company's VP of European Sales. Patrick will be responsible for the development of picoChip's business activities in all European countries and to drive market penetration in the major European markets for the company's picoArrayTM-based wireless solutions. Patrick Barry brings to picoChip more than 20 years sales and engineering experience in the semiconductor industry both in the US and most recently in the Nordics. Patrick joins picoChip from Actel where he worked as Nordic Sales Manager. Prior to Actel he was Nordic Sales Manager for PMC-Sierra and before that held Regional manager positions with PMC-Sierra and Brooktree in California. The picoChip design solution combines a high-performance processor optimised
for wireless, with a rich programming environment (using standard ANSI
C) and comprehensive system libraries. The company's newest processor
is the PC102 delivering 200GIPS and 40GMACs. Reference designs for WCDMA
FDD, HSDPA and 802.16 ("WiMAX") are currently available. These
provide a speedy, cost-competitive and low risk route to market for fully
compliant wireless infrastructure. The system is also perfectly suited
to any other advanced wireless technology, including 4G research and military
software defined radio (SDR or JTRS), smart antennas and MIMO. |
