    Keep informed about Picochip

Established in 2000, Picochip provides technology products that enable new types of cellular communications service; and that can cost-effectively improve existing services. Our key technology, experience and expertise are in the design and deployment of femtocells - low-cost cellular basestations for use in residential, enterprise, rural and metropolitan environments.

Picochip's technology is currently in use by over a hundred network operators, including eight of the global top ten. We sell to seven of the top ten telecoms equipment makers: some of our publicly announced customers include Alpha Networks, AT4 Wireless, Airspan (partnered with Fujitsu), Intel, ip.Access, Ubiquisys (supplying NEC and Motorola), Willtek, Xinwei Telecom, Zyxel and a number of other major OEMs and ODMs.

We have built a global presence that includes development sites in Europe and China, and sales and support operations across the globe. Our outstanding team boasts industry-leading expertise in silicon design, wireless, tools, software and systems.

Picochip has been recognized with multiple industry awards and listed amongst the most exciting technology companies by leading independent organizations such as Frost and Sullivan, Deloitte, Red Herring, Light Reading and Ernst & Young.

A privately held company, Picochip's investors include AT&T, Atlas Venture, Highland Capital Partners, Intel, Pond Venture Partners, Rothschild, Samsung, and Scottish Equity Partners. Our leadership team includes industry professionals with great depth of expertise and experience both in terms of technological know-how and operational effectiveness.

In addition to an active in-house R&D program, we pursue an active policy of collaboration with leading third-party developers, and are active on standards committees and industry forums. We have development partnerships with some of the leading lights of the wireless industry, including GWT, China's BUPT, L&T Infotech, Systems4Silicon, and Cambridge Consultants. Picochip is a founder and serving board member of the Femto Forum, and Principal Member of WiMAX Forum.
