PC102 — The World’s Most Powerful Wireless Infrastructure Processor

picoChip will be sampling it’s second-generation reconfigurable signal processing device, PC102, in the second quarter of 2004. It is a true MIMD, highly parallel, data driven architecture that means that designs are scalable and predictable and designers can achieve maximum performance. PC102’s vital statistics are truly impressive: the device can deliver sustained computation rates of more than 197 GIPs and 38.4 GMACs and 140 Gconvolutions/s simultaneouosly. This is supported by nearly 3.3 Tbits/s internal interconnect and more than 20 Gbit/s continuous real-time I/O.

Peter Claydon, co-founder and chief architect at picoChip, speaking at Microprocessor Forum 2003 said, "At 38.4 GMACs per second the PC102 delivers five to ten times the price-performance of any other device on the market today. It will take four years of Moore's Law improvements for conventional architectures to reach this point. The PC101 has been very successful and we are very happy with the way that customers are using it in a number of designs; through these engagements we have learnt a lot, which has defined the architecture of the PC102, the latest member of the picoArray family."
